The combined 12th ICAO EUR PBN Consolidation Task Force and 39th EUROCONTROL Navigation Steering Group Meeting (PBNC-TF/12 & NSG/39) met in Paris from 01 to 03 April 2025.

The Forty-Fourth Meeting of the Data Management Group (DMG/44) of the Meteorology Group (METG) was held at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office in Paris from March 18 to 20, 2025.

From March 11 to 12, 2025, the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office and the JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO) jointly organized an Aviation Training and Skills Workshop at the ICAO Paris office.

The ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Workshop on Gender Equality and Empowering Women in Aviation was held on March 4–5, 2025, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Hosted by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.

ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) Continuous Monitoring Approach (CMA) preparation session (Paris, France, 28-29 January 2025)

On December 4th, 2024, the Paris Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention).

The 6th meeting of the European Aviation System Planning Group (EASPG/6) took place in the premises of the ICAO Regional Office in Paris from 3 to 6 December 2024.

The thirty-first meeting of the North Atlantic Safety Oversight Group (NAT SOG/31), hosted by AirNav Ireland, took place in Ennis, Ireland, from 3 to 6 December 2024.

On November 19, 2024, the EUR/NAT Volcanic Ash exercises were held, simulating a volcanic eruption of the Santa Barbara volcano in the Azores, Portugal.

ICAO EUR/NAT jointly organized with ACI EUROPE a Regional Green Airport Seminar hosted by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan the 6 and 7 November 2024 in Almaty Kazakhstan.

The Sixty-fifth meeting of the North Atlantic Implementation Management Group (NAT IMG/65), hosted by Isavia, was held in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 28 to 31 October to 2024.

The 30th Meeting of the EASPG Frequency Management Group (FMG/30) combined with the Twenty-Sixth Meeting of the Network Manager Radio Frequency Function (RAFT/26) was held in a hybrid format in the premises of the ICAO EUR/NAT Office in Paris from 16 to 18 October 2024.

In the framework of ICAO UZB COSPA project, ICAO Safety culture workshop was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on 15-17 October 2024, hosted by the Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and supported by Boeing.

A preparatory workshop for the EUR/NAT Volcanic Ash Exercises 2024 was held in Lisbon, Portugal, from October 14 to 15, 2024. The workshop aimed to prepare for a simulated volcanic eruption of the Santa Barbara volcano in the Azores, Portugal.

The joint ICAO EUR and APAC Search and Rescue (SAR) workshop and autonomous distress tracking (ADT) and location of aircraft in distress repository (LADR) exercises took place from 2 to 4 October, 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan, hosted by the civil aviation authority of Azerbaijan.

The joint ICAO 11th PBN Consolidation Task Force (PBNC-TF/11) and 38th EUROCONTROL Navigation Steering Group (NSG/38) was held from 02 to 04 October 2024 at Eurocontrol headquarters in Brussels.

The 8th meeting of the ICAO EASPG Regional Expert Safety Group (EASPG RESG/08) combined with the 7th meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Plan Working Group (RESG RASP WG/07) was held in Sofia Bulgaria from 25 to27 September 2024.

The ICAO regional seminar on Safety Oversight in the area of Quality Management Systems (QMS) was held in Sofia, Bulgaria on 24 September 2024 at the kind invitation of Directorate General “Civil Aviation Administration” of Bulgaria and Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA).

The 34th meeting of the METG was held at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office from September 17 to 20, 2024. The meeting brought together experts from 42 States from the EUR/NAT Region and 5 international organizations.

The Regional Office organized the EUR/NAT Regional Environmental meeting 2024. The meeting, hosted by the Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan from 10 to 12 September 2024.

The ICAO EUR/NAT RO carried out a technical support mission to Tirana, Albania. The mission took place from 28 to 30 August 2024.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nino Gelovani as the new Regional Officer Air Navigation Systems Implementation/Meteorology at the ICAO European and North Atlantic Regional Office in Paris.

The North Atlantic Systems Planning Group (NAT SPG/60) was held in the European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Office of ICAO from 25 to 28 June 2024.The Meeting was chaired by Mrs. Hlin Holm (Iceland).

ICAO EUR and NAT Regional Office has organized a workshop on Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) dedicated to States from the Caucuses and Central Asia.

The 6th meeting of the European Aviation System Planning Coordination Group (EASPG PCG/06) was held in Antalya, Türkiye from 29 to 31 May 2024. The main objective of the meeting was to review the implementation status of the European Aviation System Planning Group (EASPG) work programme.

The ICAO EUR webinar on runway safety was held on 28 and 29 May 2024. The webinar was organized in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Flight Safety Foundation, the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The ICAO EUR/NAT Office and ICAO Global Training organized a training course on Managing Compliance with ICAO Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPs) for the CAA Senior and Middle Managers in the EUR/NAT Regions.

The 64th meeting of the North Atlantic Implementation Management Group (NAT IMG/64) was held from 15 to 17 May 2024 in Paris, France.

The 2024 EASPG Frequency Management Group Coordination Meeting (FMG CM 2024) combined with the Twenty-Fifth Meeting of the Network Manager Radio Frequency Function (RAFT/25) was held in the Premises of the Federal Roads Office in Bern, Szwitzerland in a hybrid format from 14 to 16 May 2024.

A NAT workshop on integration of new entrants was held on 13-14 May 2024 in the EUR/NAT Office.

An ICAO event resulted in closer collaboration on sustainability, resilience, and safety among European, Central Asian, and North African Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) concluded on 23 April in Toulouse, France.

​The Combined 10th ICAO EUR PBN Consolidation Task Force and 37th EUROCONTROL Navigation Steering Group (NSG) was held at the ICAO EUR/NAT Office in Paris from 16 to 18 April 2024.

During the NAT TIG/17, Ms. Theresa Brewer-Dougherty, Air Traffic Safety Performance Monitoring expert at the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States of America, was elected Chairperson by the NAT TIG.

The 7th meeting of the ICAO EASPG Regional Expert Safety Group (EASPG RESG/07) was held in a hybrid format.

The ICAO Regional Office hosted the ICAO Safety data analysis and prioritization workshop in Paris, France. The workshop was designed for safety analysts, experts involved in collection, processing, analyzing of safety data and information, and professionals in risk assessment and prioritization of related safety actions in aviation.

The ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office hosted a USOAP CMA Workshop from 26 to 28 March 2024.

On 6 March 2024 the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office organized a Webinar on risks associated with carriage of lithium batteries in the cargo compartment.

The EUR/NAT AVSEC Group held its eleventh meeting from 5 to 8 March 2024 in the premises of the ICAO Regional Office in Paris.

A webinar/meeting of the ICAO EUR/NAT ENV Task Force dedicated to the State Action Plan initiative was held on 29 February 2024.

The ICAO EUR/NAT Office organized and hosted an International Air Law course in Paris, France, from 05 to 09 February 2024.

The VOLCEX23 Debrief, VOLCEX24 Planning and VOLCEX/SG/18 Meetings were held on 22 and 23 January 2024 in Vila do Porto, Azores, Portugal.

ICAO is hosting the Civil Aviation Mater Planning (CAMP) session in Astana, Kazakhstan this week from 11-15 December 2023, in collaboration with the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK).

The first ICAO EUR/NAT webinar on mentoring was held on 6 December 2023. Representatives from 25 States as well as partner Organizations (EASA, EUROCONTROL, ICCAIA and IFATCA) attended the meeting.

A Green Airports webinar jointly organized by ICAO EUR/NAT and ACI Europe was held on 5 December 2023. The meeting was attended by Representatives from 27 States.

The first ICAO EUR/NAT webinar on the Ratification of International Air Law Treaties was held on 30 November 2023. The meeting was attended by Representatives from States and Airports from 25 States.

The 5th meeting of the European Aviation System Planning Group (EASPG/5) took place in the premises of the ICAO Regional Office in Paris from 29 November to 1 December 2023.

The ICAO EUR NAT Office and ICAO Global Aviation Training (GAT) organized an International Air Law course in Paris, France, from 20 to 24 November 2023.

The seminar of the ICAO Environment (ENV) Task Force was held from 17 to 19 October 2023 in Tbilisi, Georgia hosted by the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA).

The ICAO European and North Atlantic Regions (EUR/NAT) VOLCEX23 Preparatory Workshop was held in Reykjavik, Iceland with hybrid capabilities from 9 to 10 October 2023.

The ICAO EUR SAR Workshop combined with SAREX, jointly organized by the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office and the Joint Rescue Coordination Center of the Republic of Cyprus, was conducted in Larnaca, Cyprus from 5 to 6 October 2023, preceded by the EUR SAR TF/12 on 4 October 2023.

The Thirty-Third Meeting of the Meteorology Group (METG/33) of the European Aviation System Planning Group (EASPG) was held at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office in Paris from 19 to 22 September 2023.

The ninth Aviation Security and Facilitation (AVSEC/FAL) Seminar for the Eastern European, Central Asian, Balkan and Baltic area of the European Region and the Landside Security Workshop were conducted from 10 to 11 July and 12 to 14 July 2023, hosted by Azerbaijan in Baku.

NAT SPG/59 was held in the European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Office of ICAO from 27 to 29 June 2023. Ms. Hlin Holm, Head of Air Navigation Services Section of the Icelandic Transport Authority, was unanimously re-elected by the NAT SPG/59 as its Chairperson.

The Civil Aviation Regulators from 40 States gathered on 20 June 2023 for the Directors General of Civil Aviation Meeting of the ICAO European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Regions under the theme “Joining Forces”.

The ICAO EUR/NAT DGCA meeting was held on 20 June 2023, chaired by Ms. Simões and focusing on strengthening collaboration to ensure a sustainable future of air transport network in a safe, secure, efficient, resilient and inclusive manner.

The Thirty-Ninth Meeting of the Data Management Group (DMG/39) of the Meteorology Group (METG) was held at the Agencia Estatal de Meteorologia (AEMET) in Madrid from 13 to 15 June 2023.

The Twenty-eighth meeting of the North Atlantic Safety Oversight Group (NAT SOG/28) was held in the ICAO European and North Atlantic office in Paris, France from 6 to 9 June 2023.

Ms. Jennifer Kileo, International Integration Staff Manager at the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States of America was elected Chairperson by the NAT SOG/28.

The 42th meeting of the Language Proficiency Requirements Implementation Task Force (EASPG/LPRI TF/42) was hosted by Uzbekistan, in Samarkand city, from 5 to 6 June, 2023 with the participation of 45 linguistic experts from 18 States and from Organizations (EASA, IATA,ICAEA, EUROCONTROL, AOPA, ICAA Aviasafety etc.).

The Twenty-first Meeting of the Project Team on Implementation of Meteorological Services in the Eastern Part of the EUR Region (PT/EAST/21) of the Meteorology Group (METG) was held virtually from 31 May to 1 June 2023.

The fifth meeting of the European Aviation System Planning Coordination Group (EASPG PCG/05) was held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 30 to 31 May 2023.

A Civil Aviation Master Planning (CAMP) training course was held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 22 to 26 May 2023.

Fifth Meeting of the European and North Atlantic Aviation Security Group (ENAVSECG) Coordination Hub Organon (ECHO initiative) Working Group (WG) on better aligned Capacity Building, Paris, 19/20 April 2023

The Fifth Meeting of the EASPG Regional Expert Safety Group (EASPG RESG/05) combined with the RESG RASP WG/04 was held in Vienna, Austria, from 04 to 06 April 2023.

The Thirty-Eighth Meeting of the Data Management Group (DMG/38) of the Meteorology Group (METG) was held at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office in Paris from 21 to 22 March 2023.

The ICAO 2023 Environment (ENV) Task Force meeting was held virtually on 21 March 2023. Representatives from 33 States from the ICAO EUR/NAT area as well as representatives from partner Regional Organizations (ACAO, ACI Europe, ECAC and EUROCONTROL) attended the meeting.

ICAO, in collaboration with IATA, conducted a webinar on 15 March 2023 on recent developments and recommendations in the area of prevention of Controlled Flight Into Terrain accidents.

The joint ICAO EUR/NAT and World Food Programme Aviation Safety Campaign workshop was held on 2-3 March 2023 in Paris, France.

From 27 to 28 February 2023, National Continuous Monitoring Coordinators from across the European and North Atlantic Regions of ICAO gathered at the premises of the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office in Paris, France.

The ICAO EUR/NAT and MID Regional Offices jointly organized the 10th interregional CAPSCA EUR-MID meeting in Bahrain on 14 and 15 February 2023.

38 representatives, from 9 States, 3 International and Regional Organizations and 2 Aviation related Industries, gathered at the ICAO EUR/NAT Office, in Paris, France from 7 to 8 February 2023, to discuss the NAT 2030 Vision.
