ICAO Global Ambassadors Programme

The ICAO Global Ambassadors Programme offers opportunities to influence aviation's future for leaders, experts and innovators who share a commitment to its safety, sustainability, and reach.  

As aviation prepares for a sustainable expansion— progressing towards zero fatalities and net-zero carbon emissions while tripling capacity to reach everyone, everywhere — the industry and ICAO face the challenge of attracting sufficient support for these goals. 

Developing nations need support to build aviation infrastructure and regulatory capacity. The climate emergency requires the adoption of new technologies, operational changes, and international cooperation. And as traffic volumes increase and new aviation technologies take to the sky, we will need renewed focus on all aspects of safety and innovation. 

By showcasing the human face of aviation, the ICAO Global Ambassadors Programme not only promotes ICAO’s mission and Strategic Goals—it fuels a global movement to ensure a resilient and sustainable future for air transport.

To this aim, ICAO Ambassadors engage with emerging talent in aviation, helping to ensure the industry attracts the diverse expertise needed for its future. This includes outreach to educational institutions, professional organizations, and underrepresented communities. From classrooms and career fairs to international forums and digital platforms, these Ambassadors engage with youth, women, and the public at large to open doors to careers in aviation, break down barriers, and spark lifelong curiosity.

To reinforce the objectives of the Programme, ICAO Champions engage with the aviation community at the highest levels. They participate in international forums, contribute to policy discussions, and connect with leaders across government, industry, and civil society.  They have access to ICAO's network of Member States, industry partners, and multilateral organizations working on aviation's most pressing issues. 

The Programme particularly emphasizes the Organization’s Strategic Goal of No Country Left Behind in its Strategic Plan 2026-2050, recognizing that the benefits of aviation should reach every nation. Through promoting aviation to all, notably to youth and women, the ICAO Global Ambassadors Programme is also in line with the objectives of the Next Generation of Aviation Professional’s Programme and the Call to Action of the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals Global Summit, which took place from 12 to 14 August 2025 in Durban, South Africa, as well as the objectives related to the empowerment of women in aviation.
 
The Programme offers a platform for individuals who want to contribute to aviation's evolution toward sustainability, safety, and global accessibility. It provides the connections, insights, and opportunities necessary to influence how aviation will address its greatest challenges over the next quarter-century.

Together, our Global Ambassadors and Champions will help us in shaping the skies of tomorrow—one conversation, one event, and one inspired mind at a time.
