The implementation of the Apron Management Service at Jorge Chávez International Airport (Lima, Peru) will be presented from three perspectives: the civil aviation authority, the aerodrome operator and the service provider.

- The main components of AMS: definition, the role of the AMSO and areas of responsibility.
- The tangible benefits in operational efficiency and cost optimisation.
- The relationship between AMS and A-CDM, and why the former is a prerequisite for the latter.
- How AMS responsibilities differ from those of air traffic control (ATC).

- Airport senior management: CEOs, COOs, CFOs and other executives.
- Airport operational staff: heads of operations, apron supervisors, technicians and coordinators.
- Civil aviation authorities: inspectors, auditors and staff responsible for aviation regulations.

AMS brings order to apron movements and prevents collisions, supporting the ICAO strategic objective that every flight be safe and secure.
Capacity and efficiency
It reduces delays, optimises the flow of ground traffic and takes workload off air traffic controllers.
Foundation for A-CDM
A mature AMS is a prerequisite for airport collaborative decision-making and for stronger operational resilience.
The regional gap
Despite progress in aerodrome certification, many of the region's major airports still have no AMS in place.
