Flight Recorder Specific Working Group
The Flight Recorder Panel (FLIRECP) was established in March 1993 and became a specific working group of the Operations Panel on 12 September 2014. The FLIRECP has been permanently active since 2006 and has since progressed several amendments to Annex 6 — Operation of Aircraft. Further work for flight recorder related amendments to Annex 6 are currently underway.
The Flight Recorder Specific Working Group (FLIRECSWG) undertakes specific studies and develops technical and operational ICAO provisions related to flight recorders, including studies to ensure that proposed amendments to the SARPs reflect current and emerging requirements for on-board flight recordings, taking into account developments in flight recorder technology.
