ICAO continued to improve its Carbon Emissions and Green Meetings Calculators by updating their databases and methodology to apply the best available industry data to take account of factors such as aircraft type, routing and payload. Over the coming triennium, CAEP is working with key stakeholders on the development of a methodology to account for the emissions associated with air cargo.
The ICAO Fuel Savings Estimation Tool (IFSET) was further developed by the Secretariat with support from States and international organizations in order to assist States in estimating fuel savings in a manner consistent with the models approved by CAEP and aligned with the revised ICAO Global Air Navigation Plan. It is currently being used by many States and has been integrated into the curriculum in civil aviation university programmes.
