ICAO’s environmental efforts over 2013 focused on the finalization of work in key areas: noise, local air quality, climate change, and advancing the activities of the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP).
Also significant were the maintenance and upgrade of environmental tools; enhanced cooperation with other UN bodies; support to States on their action plans to mitigate aviation CO2; capacity building and assistance, including agreements to facilitate financing of measures to reduce aviation CO2 emissions; and various outreach activities.
