ICAO AVIATION SECURITY ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING
For ICAO, the promotion of a positive security culture is a priority. Indeed, a strong security culture in aviation complements any and all aviation security training that we, or any other organization, deliver, and improves the effectiveness of the measures implemented. Unless all staff within an organization are dedicated to ensuring the highest level of security and are fully aware of existing and potential threats to civil aviation, the efficacy of these measures will be greatly impacted. For this reason, all of ICAO’s aviation security training includes security culture best practices.
 | Additionally, ICAO is proud to introduce the ICAO Security Culture Workshop, which builds upon best practices to develop, implement, and sustain security culture principles. These best practices are highlighted in the ICAO Security Culture Toolkit and the ICAO Security Culture Campaign Starter Pack. |
Objectives of the workshop include:
- Explaining the principles, importance, and benefits of an effective security culture;
- Presenting tools and best practices to develop a strong and sustainable security culture; and
- Illustrating how campaigns can be mobilized to instigate positive behavioural changes to build and maintain an effective security culture.

ICAO GLOBAL AVIATION TRAINING
 | ICAO Global Aviation Training (GAT) and UK CAA International (CAAi) have announced a 2-day Introduction to Security Culture training course under the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Programme. The course will help regulated entities and aviation authorities understand the concept and benefits of an effective security culture, and best practices for embedding a positive security culture within an organization.
