E-learning Training Package

ICAO has produced an interactive Fundamentals of Security Culture e-learning training package (in English) to provide users with a comprehensive understanding of security culture and its importance in an aviation environment.

The e-learning is relevant to all staff who work in aviation and not just those involved in direct aviation security roles.

Learning objectives include:

• Educating staff on improving their security performance;
• Encouraging good security practices and knowing what do when incorrect practices are observed;
• Understanding the wider benefits of a positive security culture; and
• Appreciating how to build and maintain a secure airport environment.

The e-learning provides users with a clear message of what is expected of them in regard to their security posture and behaviours, along with an appreciation of what practical actions they (and others) could undertake to implement a strong and effective security culture.

The target audience is staff (at all levels) working for Appropriate Authorities, Airport Operators, Aircraft Operators, Regulated Cargo Agents, Regulated In-flight Suppliers, Customs Agencies, Border Control Agencies and Law Enforcement Agencies.

The e-learning takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete, with users receiving an ICAO certificate upon successful completion of the training. There is no cost or fee involved.

Persons can enrol at this link: ICAO Security Culture Resources. Upon enrolment, the e-learning user (participants) guide and additional information will be provided. Participants will then be requested to indicate if they are non-security staff, security staff, or a senior manager in order to access the appropriate course material.
