The Second Global Runway Safety Symposium (GRSS) will serve as a platform to improve runway safety worldwide through global collaboration and an exchange of strategies and best practices. Providing an overview of global achievements in improving runway safety since the last GRSS in 2011, this Symposium will promote the participation of stakeholders in regional initiatives related to runway safety.
Topics of discussion for this Symposium include the new ICAO Runway Safety Programme action plan, global initiatives related to runway safety, the benefits of a State Runway Safety Programme, and updated progress on current strategies to reduce runway safety related events and their severity.
