As there are only two types of examples that may complement Chapter 7 of the SMM, examples submitted in this section have not been organized according to sub-chapter, as has been done for other chapters of the manual.
This section contains examples of:
1) Legislation, Regulations and/or Policies and; 2) Decisions by Competent Authorities, which complement the guidance material contained in Chapter 7 of the SMM on the protection of safety data, safety information and related sources. These examples, which have been submitted by States and will be updated on an ongoing basis, are intended to serve as tools to assist in the drafting of legislation, regulations and policies which implement the protective framework contained in Annex 19, as well as in the application of the principles of exception by the designated competent authority.
This section contains examples of State legislation, regulations and policies which support the protection of safety data, safety information and related sources, and are intended to facilitate the implementation of the protective framework contained in Annex 19.
