The purpose of the interim electronic personnel licence (EPL) verification solution is to have access to centralized and recognized authentic information sources on electronic personnel licences issued by certain States. Furthermore, the EPL solution aims to support a harmonized approach to electronic personnel licence verification and reduce the potential burden on States.
The information contained in this EPL verification solution does not alter, fulfil, or replace States' obligations, as provided by the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention), its Annexes or any other applicable legal instruments. The verification solution may be used in conjunction with other information sources and is not to be considered as a sole source of information for recognizing or verifying electronic personnel licences.
This verification solution is informational in nature and its contents are made available without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied. The information provided is restricted to submissions from States that have implemented an EPL system and provided in accordance with national laws of the respective State, including privacy, information technology security and data protection laws. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) does not warrant that the contents are accurate, valid, reliable, complete, comprehensive, correct or up to date, that this verification solution will be available at any particular time or location, that any defects or errors will be corrected, or that the content is free of viruses or other harmful components.
ICAO shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, or loss of programmes or information) that result from the use or inability to use the EPL verification solution, or from the use or non-use of the information provided herein, in particular for, but not limited to, errors or omissions in the contents of the EPL verification solution, consequences of its use or non-use, or inaccurate transmission or misdirection.
Nothing herein shall constitute or be considered to be a limitation upon or a waiver of the privileges and immunities of ICAO. ICAO reserves its exclusive right in its sole discretion to alter, limit or discontinue the EPL verification solution or any information in any respect.
ICAO will track the use of this application for analytical and application maintenance purposes. The information collected in this regard are:
- the query;
- the IP address;
- the type of browser used; and,
- a timestamp of the transaction.
