The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) section enables a better, safer, more sustainable ICAO through innovative technology. It is committed to ensuring the secretariat has all the tools necessary to succeed in their goals and objectives.
ICT helps to drive innovation and efficiency in the organization. It is an agile, reliable, and innovative solution provider to all bureaus and regional offices, supporting all ICAO to meet the increasing rate of change in the global civil aviation environment.
The mission of ICAO’s ICT is to drive modern, sustainable Information Technology systems to support ICAO's mandate.
ICT strives to maximize stakeholder's satisfaction by ensuring quality service delivery in all operations and by adopting best practices in the governance and management of Information systems, cloud service providers, and resources. ICT’s work as enablers (of the most appropriate ICT to match ICAO's needs), should reflect in every facet of the Organization.
The ICT Strategy and Action Plan enhances ICAO’s capabilities by improving user experience with increased collaboration and engagement between the Secretariat and Member States, along with sharing of resources and knowledge; increasing efficiency through digitization and standardization of processes and procedures; improving its ability to scale and respond to business requirements in secure and cloud-based environments.
With the support of UNICC, ICT is supporting ICAO in its Digital Transformation (DT) journey where modern technologies and applications are being adopted helping ICAO to achieve improved efficiency, transparency and effective governance and oversight in the work of ICT.
