The First Meeting of the Africa - Indian Ocean Aviation System Planning and Implementation Group (AASPG/1), the new Group replacing APIRG and RASG-AFI, will be held from 3 to 7 November 2025 in Libreville, Gabon.
The meeting will be conducted in the English and French languages with simultaneous interpretation, and the documentation issued in the same languages. Your Administration/Organization is kindly invited to participate in this meeting.
Several Conclusions and Decisions were formulated during the APIRG/27 and RASG-AFI/10 meetings. The AASPG/1 meeting will review the status of implementation of these Conclusions and Decisions.
The meeting will also consider under the Performance Framework for Regional Aviation Safety and Air Navigation Planning and Implementation, outcomes of the activities of the Group’s Contributory Bodies, including progress made in the implementation of Basic Building Blocks (BBBs) and the ASBU elements, the identification and resolution of air navigation deficiencies, the status of Projects, the AFI airspace monitoring, safety enhancement initiatives, the regional and national aviation safety and air navigation Plans, as well as other regional safety and air navigation initiatives.
Your Administration/Organization is encouraged to contribute to the deliberations of the meeting with Working and Information Papers (WPs/IPs) on the items reflected in the tentative agenda of the meeting (templates are provided in attachment). In order to facilitate preparations of the meeting, the papers should be forwarded to the Secretariat by e-mail through icaoesaf [at] icao.int (icaoesaf[at]icao[dot]int) and icaowacaf [at] icao.int (icaowacaf[at]icao[dot]int) not later than 10 October 2025 and, where possible, in both English and French languages. In accordance with the APIRG Decision 11/23, Working Papers received after the above date will be distributed only in the language in which they are received without translation.
