The 2024 ICAO Environmental Regional Seminars will be held from 7 August to 16 October 2024, as five in-person events, in multiple locations.
The 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly in 2022 adopted the collective long-term global aspirational goal (LTAG) for international aviation of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and the Third Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF/3) in 2023 adopted the ICAO Global Framework on Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), Lower Carbon Aviation Fuels (LCAF) and other aviation cleaner energies.
In this regard, ICAO is organizing five Environmental Regional Seminars with the objectives of raising awareness and exchanging views on the implementation of the LTAG and Global Framework, including recent developments on aviation cleaner energy policies and State Action Plans, CORSIA as the basis for the eligibility of aviation cleaner energies, implementation challenges and the ACT-SAF programme, and financing for aviation cleaner energies, as well as the means for monitoring the progress for the implementation of the LTAG and Global Framework.
