The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Aviation Working Group (AWG) will hold a joint regional workshop on cross-border transferability of aircraft (XBT) and compliance with the Cape Town Convention (CTC) for the North American, Central American and Caribbean & South American Regions.
The joint workshop is intended to inform and address:
a) the rules, processes, practices and procedures for the cross-border transfer of registration and nationality of aircraft;
b) implementation of and best practices relating to the deregistration and export-related provisions in the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters specific to Aircraft Equipment, both signed at Cape Town on 16 November 2001 (hereinafter "CTC"); and
c) latest developments related to the cooperative oversight arrangements, including aircraft interchange and cross-border group operations.
