Cargo Safety

ICAO promotes the safe transport of cargo by air through globally harmonized Standards and Recommended Practices, technical instructions and guidance material, including provisions for dangerous goods.

ICAO Cargo Safety Programme

The ICAO Cargo Safety Programme develops and maintains provisions and guidance for cargo operations, cargo compartment safety and the safe transport of dangerous goods by air. Its work supports harmonized implementation by States, operators and entities within the air transport supply chain.

Safe transport of dangerous goods by air

ICAO Annex 18 and the Technical Instructions establish the international framework for the safe transport of dangerous goods by air, including dangerous goods transported as cargo, in mail, or carried by passengers and crew.
