At the 39th Session of the ICAO Assembly, Resolutions A39-2 (Consolidated statement of continuing ICAO policies and practices related to environmental protection – Climate change) and A39-3 (Consolidated statement of continuing ICAO policies and practices related to environmental protection – Global Market-based Measure (MBM) scheme) were adopted, requesting ICAO to further support its Member States' capacity-building activities in the area of aviation and climate change.
Objectives of the 2017 ICAO Regional Seminars
To provide national action plan focal points and aviation industry stakeholders with practical input on the calculation of the CO2 emissions baseline and other quantification aspects.
To share information on CORSIA's design elements and implementation aspects, including the work being undertaken on the development of Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and guidance material for CORSIA implementation.
To provide an opportunity for States to share their existing readiness to implement CORSIA and conduct an assessment of assistance needs.

Preparing for the 2017 ICAO Regional Seminars
State participants to the ICAO regional seminars are encouraged to answer the questionnaire related to the implementation of CORSIA as soon as possible prior to the seminar.
