This Symposium brings together CAPSCA Members and Partners, Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs), Public Health Authorities (PHAs), personnel of the national emergency committee, focal points of national facilitation committees and other industry stakeholders. Discussions include the major challenges civil aviation faces during different types of public health events and the identification of lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The expected outcome of the Symposium is to improve the effectiveness of prevention and management of public health risks in aviation, strengthen the CAPSCA Programme framework, build resilience for similar events in future and report the outcome to the ICAO Assembly in September 2022. The Symposium is conducted in English over a three-day period by means of a three-hour session every day from 09:00 to 12:00 hours EDT (13:00 to 16:00 UTC).
