High-level Panel and Statements

In the afternoon of 20 November 2023, following the opening ceremony of CAAF/3 including the opening by the President of the ICAO Council and keynote addresses, there will be a panel session moderated by Ms. Adefunke Adeyemi, Secretary General, African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), for the exchange of views among the following high-level representatives of States and the aviation industry on the expectations for CAAF/3:

• Mr. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, United Arab Emirates
• Mr. Festus Keyamo San, Minister of Civil Aviation, Nigeria
• Mr. Hong Tat Chee, Acting Minister of Transport and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance, Singapore
• Mrs. Lydia Sindisiwe Chikunga, Minister of Transport, South Africa
• Mr. Anthony Browne MP, Department of Transport, United Kingdom
• Mrs. Annie Petsonk, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
• Mrs. Magda Kopczyńska, Director-General for Mobility and Transport, European Commission
• Mr. Haldane Dodd, Executive Director, Air Transport Action Group (ATAG)

Then, the floor will be opened for pre-reserved oral statements from States' high-level representatives. The high-level statements should focus on agenda items and be no longer than 3 minutes. If time permits, oral statements by Observers will be accommodated. Member States and Observers should notify the Secretariat of their intention to deliver an oral statement and submit the written copy of the oral statement by 24 October 2023 to officeenv [at] icao.int (officeenv[at]icao[dot]int). Written oral statements will not be translated and will be posted on the website in the original language(s) provided.
