This workshop, generously hosted by McGill University, and sponsored by Airbus, aims to facilitate an active discussion forum between academic institutions, training centers in the TRAINAIR PLUS Programme, industry stakeholders and civil regulatory bodies to define the roles that each party can play to bridge the gap between education, technical training and operational readiness to prepare the next generation of aviation professionals (NGAP).
Workshop Objectives:
Aligning Academia and Industry Needs: Discuss the need for globally accepted aviation education and technical training paths to sustain employability and mobility of the workforce. The role of each stakeholder in upskilling the prospective and existing workforce, and the need to define clear criteria to recognize workforce preparation for industry recruitment.
Fostering Collaboration and Partnerships: Build stronger relationships between academia, regulators, training institutions, and industry representatives, and promote public-private partnerships to support research, talent development, and recruitment.
Supporting Underserved Regions: Discuss pathways to assist underserved regions to develop aviation programmes that meet international benchmarks and address workforce needs.
