Joint PBNC TF/11 and NSG/38

The joint ICAO 11th PBN Consolidation Task Force (PBNC-TF/11) and 38th EUROCONTROL Navigation Steering Group (NSG/38) was held from 02 to 04 October 2024 at Eurocontrol headquarters in Brussels. The meeting was held as a hybrid event and gathered around 150 participants.

A key highlight was the election of Mr. Bart Banning from the Netherlands as the new Chairperson, succeeding Dr. Marc Troller from Switzerland. Dr. Troller, who had chaired the group for the past decade, was warmly thanked for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the work of the group. He was presented with a 'Certificate of Outstanding Achievement' by the ICAO Secretary, Mr. Bryan DeCouto and the NSG Chairperson, Mr. Gerhard Berz. 

Participants reviewed recommendations from the ICAO 14th Air Navigation Conference, focusing on issues such as GNSS interference, navigation infrastructure, contingency planning, and the phasing out of legacy systems. States also presented updates on their PBN implementation progress.

Additional updates included a status report on GALILEO Service Provision and GNSS RFI mitigation activities in the EUR region, along with other key developments related to PBN.
