2024 ICAO ENV Regional Seminar, Samarkand, Uzbekistan - 10 to 12 September 2024

The Regional Office organized the EUR/NAT Regional Environmental meeting 2024. The meeting, hosted by the Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan from 10 to 12 September 2024. The objective of the meeting was to raise awareness and exchange views on the implementation of the collective long-term global aspirational goal (LTAG) for international aviation of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and Global Framework on Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), Lower Carbon Aviation Fuels (LCAF) and other aviation cleaner energies.

The meeting was introduced as well to the new ICAO guidance document on the State Action Plans (SAPs). The meeting reviewed the actions undertaken to promote sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) development, including the SAF Roadmap development and the SAF inclusion in the SAPs.

Representatives from 15 States, aircraft manufacturers, International Organizations participated at this event.
