Safety Management Implementation Website
The fourth edition of the Safety Management Manual (SMM) (Doc 9859) was published in 2018. To further enhance the guidance provided in Doc 9859, ICAO developed a complementary website (www4.icao.int/SMI) which serves as a repository for the collection and sharing of the latest practical examples, tools and best practices collected from States, service providers and international organizations, to support the implementation of SSP and SMS.
Safety Information Monitoring System
The ICAO Safety Information Monitoring System (SIMS) is a web-based safety data and information system comprised of different applications, which generate indicators in support of State Safety Programmes (SSP) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
iSTARS 4.0
The integrated Safety Trend Analysis and Reporting System (iSTARS) is a web-based system that includes a collection of safety datasets and related web applications that can be used to perform safety and risk analysis. Extracting useful information from these analyses allows the identification of specific safety issues and provides decision-makers with analytics and visualization tools that drive safety strategies.
