The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Aviation Working Group (AWG) will hold a joint regional workshop on cross-border transferability of aircraft (XBT) and compliance with the Cape Town Convention (CTC) for the Middle East Region, the Eastern and Southern African Region as well as the Western and Central African Region.
The joint workshop, hosted by the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is intended to inform and address:
a) the rules, processes, practices and procedures for the cross-border transfer of registration and nationality of aircraft; and
b) implementation of and best practices relating to the deregistration and export-related provisions in the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters specific to Aircraft Equipment, both signed at Cape Town on 16 November 2001 (hereinafter "CTC").
