The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority of Jamaica, will convene a regional air transport conference at the Convention Centre in Montego Bay, Jamaica, from 7 to 9 October 2014.
The Conference will provide participants with essential background on key issues in connection with the implementation of the new regulatory framework for the sustainable development of air transport in the North American, Central American, Caribbean and South American Regions, as well as possible solutions.
The event is expected to attract a wide variety of experts from civil aviation authorities, the air transport industry, academics, air transport lawyers and consultants, and international organizations. Speakers will include high level representatives from States, international organizations, airlines, airports, aircraft manufacturers, freight forwarders and financing institutions.
It is expected that the outcome of the interactive discussions taking place during the Conference will assist in providing valuable input toward the achievement of Strategic Objective - Economic Development of Air Transport, in the North American, Central American, Caribbean and South American Regions. The event is expected to result in the adoption of a Declaration on the development of air transport in these regions.
