Transport, including air transport, is at the center of many economic and social development challenges and opportunities. Aviation is an essential nexus to global sustainable and socio-economic development as it connects people, generates economic growth, creates jobs, and facilitates international trade by providing the only rapid worldwide transportation network. To help the Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) to fully leverage their potential to connect their cities to global markets we need to facilitate greater development and investments in aviation infrastructure, and strengthen regulatory, governance and oversight capabilities as well as workforce planning.
This one-hour high-level dialogue will offer the opportunity to underscore the importance of aviation to the socio-economic advancement of the (LLDCs). Panelists will share their experiences; lessons learned and discuss a way forward on how to overcome bottlenecks
All registered participants of the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly are invited to join in a conversation about the essential role of aviation and the importance of conducting an ICAO Aviation Needs Analysis for LLDCs.
Partners are encouraged to attend the event as it marks a significant opportunity to support and showcase their leadership in advancing aviation’s contribution towards the LLDCs.
