The Forty‑Seventh Meeting of the Data Management Group (DMG/47) of the Meteorology Group (METG) convened at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office in Paris from 24 to 26 March 2026.

The meeting gathered experts and representatives from Algeria (participating virtually), Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Romania, Spain, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and ICAO to review recent progress in operational meteorological data management and regional implementation efforts.
During the meeting, participants evaluated the status of implementation of the ICAO Meteorological Information Exchange Model (IWXXM) across the EUR Region and its progress globally. The group reviewed outcomes from the METG/35 survey and considered ongoing coordination activities to maintain and update the regional IWXXM implementation plan.
The group also examined OPMET monitoring results, including performance indices for the availability and timeliness of operational meteorological information. Discussions focused on action plans designed to support States in enhancing data quality, compliance, and service performance.
Further deliberations addressed the continued development of the Regional OPMET Data Exchange (RODEX), including contingency arrangements, interregional coordination, and updates on the exchange of Volcano Observatory Notices for Aviation (VONA).
Participants additionally reviewed progress on System-Wide Information Management (SWIM) implementation within the EUR Region. Presentations highlighted ongoing global and regional initiatives, as well as demonstrations of SWIM-related tools and services that support the evolving digital information environment.
Finally, the meeting considered proposed updates to key EUR documentation, including EUR Doc 014 and EUR Doc 018, and agreed on next steps and priorities for the group's future work.
