
The EUR/NAT RO attended the 17th Global Humanitarian Aviation Conference (GHAC) held from 15 to 17 October 2025 in Istanbul at the kind invitation of the DGCA of Türkiye.

The EUR/NAT Deputy Regional Director participated as a panelist in Session, “Sustaining Lifelines: Confronting Funding Cuts in Humanitarian Aviation and Ensuring Operational Continuity” on the first day of the conference. The key discussion points for the session included:
- Impact of funding cuts on mission reach, frequency, and safety
- Prioritization strategies for limited aviation resources’
- Role of donor engagement and advocacy in sustaining humanitarian air operations
- Innovations in cost-efficiency and resource optimization
- Collaboration between humanitarian organizations to share aviation assets

A presentation was also presented on ICAO developments related to facilitating the use of unmanned aviation in humanitarian operations.
