Annex 1 — Personnel Licensing, Amendment 175

 

Amendment 175 relates to: a regulatory structure for the issuance of remote pilot licences and a global framework for the regulation of RPAS licensing to support international flight operations; updates to references and definitions in the Annex as a consequence of the transfer from Annex 6 to Annex 8 of SARPs regarding approval and global recognition of approved maintenance organizations (AMOs); and an adjustment to the reference to World Meteorological Organization (WMO) requirements for the qualifications, competencies, education and training of aeronautical meteorological personnel.

 

Annex 2 — Rules of the Air, Amendment 46

 

Amendment 46 relates to a regulatory structure for the issuance of remote pilot licences and a global framework for the regulation of RPAS licensing to support international flights operating under international instrument flight rules (IFR).

 

Annex 3 — Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation, Amendment 78

 

Amendment 78 relates to: space weather advisory information services; provision of SIGMET information by meteorological watch offices (MWOs); information on the release of radioactive material into the atmosphere; SIGMET and AIRMET information; IWXXM representations of information; and aeronautical meteorological personnel qualification and competency, education and training.

 

Annex 4 — Aeronautical Charts, Amendment 60

 

Amendment 60 is a result of the restructuring of Annex 15 — Aeronautical Information Services and the introduction of PANS-AIM concerning data quality requirements and performance-based data error detection requirements; and revised definition and description of “procedure altitude/height” in the Procedures for Air Navigation Services — Aircraft Operations, Volume I — Flight Procedures and Volume II — Construction of Visual and Instrument Flight Procedures (Doc 8168).

These amendments relate to:

 

  • guidance on rescue and fire-fighting services (RFFS) and helicopter refuelling (Annex 6, Parts I and III);

  • flight recorder requirements to include: flight crew-machine interface recordings, including CVR and AIR erase function; additional FDR parameters to be recorded; and simplification of flight recorder provisions (Annex 6, Parts I, II and III);
  •  

  • security of the flight crew compartment (Annex 6, Part I);
  •

Amendment 106 relates to the approval and global recognition of approved maintenance organizations; design Standards; continuing airworthiness provisions; halon replacement in cargo compartment fire suppression systems; and electronic aircraft maintenance records.

These amendments relate to:

 

  • the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and the instrument landing system (ILS); ground-based augmentation system (GBAS), satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) and the strategy for introduction and application of non-visual aids to approach and landing; and a consequential change of references as a result of the restructuring of Annex 15 and the introduction of PANS-AIM (Doc 10066) (Annex 10, Vol. I);
  •  

  • pronunciation of numbers (Annex 10, Vol. II); and
  •  

  • airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS); and secondary surveillance radar (SSR) and wide area multilateration (WAM) (Annex 10, Vol. IV).

 

Annex 11 — Air Traffic Services, Amendment 51

 

Amendment 51 is a consequential amendment resulting from changes to Annex 15 and the introduction of PANS-AIM (Doc 10066) concerning change of references, data quality requirements and performance-based data error detection requirements.

This amendment relates to the upgrade of Recommendations relating to access to evidential material during investigations and monitoring the progress of safety recommendations to Standards.

Volume II — Heliports, Amendment 8

 

These amendments relate to:

 

  • revised aerodrome reference code in Table 1-1; runway widths, shoulders, turn pads and strips; taxiway widths, shoulders and strips; reduced taxiway minimum separation distances; an updated footnote e. in Table 4-1 (Annex 14, Vol. I); and
  •  

  • a consequential amendment related to change of references, data quality requirements and performance-based data error detection requirements as a result of the restructuring of Annex 15 and the introduction of PANS-AIM (Doc 10066) (Annex 14, Vols. I and II).

 

Annex 15 — Aeronautical Information Services, Amendment 40

 

Amendment 40 relates to the restructure of Annex 15 to facilitate incorporation of aeronautical information management (AIM) requirements; changes to the technical content of Annex 15 to facilitate the transition from AIS to AIM; and a consequential amendment in support of space weather information.

Introduction of Annex 16, Volume IV containing SARPs relating to the implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).

Amendment 8 relates to lateral separation and parallel operations, remote ATS and ATM procedures, the restructure of Procedures for Air Navigation Services – Aircraft Operations, Volume I – Flight Procedures, Parts I and II (Phase II), the restructure of Annex 15 and incorporation of AIM concepts and the transmission of space weather information as part of a flight information service.

Volume I – Flight Procedures, Amendment 8

 

Amendment 8 to Volume I relates to: the restructuring of Volume I, Parts I and II focussing on information required by pilots to operate safely on procedures designed using the criteria in PANS-OPS, Volume II; introduction of two attachments on charting information and procedure design principles; updated definition of procedure altitude/height; clarification of intermediate segment protection area limits; update of helicopter point-in-space (PinS) criteria; consequential amendments to references arising from the restructure of Annex 15 and the introduction of PANS-AIM; and new PBN approach procedures for parallel runway operations.

 

Volume II – Construction of Visual and Instrument Flight Procedures, Amendment 8

 

Amendment 8 to Volume II relates to: safety risk assessment for an instrument flight procedure design (IFPD); revised criteria for helicopter point-in-space (PinS); updated definition of procedure altitude/height; revised criteria for naming waypoints on performance-based navigation (PBN) approach procedures; revised datum crossing point definition; revised ground-based augmentation system (GBAS) and GBAS landing system (GLS) and satellite based augmentation system (SBAS) terminology; revised guidance on encoding GBAS final approach segment (FAS) and SBAS FAS data block parameters; alignment of LPV and localizer performance (LP) criteria; introduction of a visual segment surface-obstacle clearance surface (VSS-OCS) around the nominal flight track; clarification of intermediate segment protection area limits; consequential amendments to references arising from the restructure of Annex 15 and the introduction of PANS-AIM; and new PBN departure procedures for parallel runway operations.
