Frontier technologies
Frontier technologies have been recognized by the global community as playing a pivotal role in the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). These Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies include artificial intelligence, block chain, distributed electronic propulsion, and 3D printing, and are rapidly being applied to various aviation-related areas. In 2018, AN-Conf/13 recognized the need for ICAO review and enhance its Standards-making processes in order to meet the requirements of the rapid pace of these and other technological developments.
