The list of definitions provided below is not exhaustive and it is expected that this list will expand in the future. It is provided as a bridge between relevant ISO/ED definitions and the English language, to support the review of all relevant ICAO documents, to improve consistency and move them one step closer to SWIM environment by applying a more harmonised approach to all data and information activities. The definitions provided below indicate basic terms related to data and information management and use activities. Where terms may have conflicting definitions in different Annexes these are explained as shown below. Where conflicting terms or definitions are used in Annexes it is recommended that these should be indicated and defined accordingly in the specific publication.
