CMAC and FUA Workshop held in Malaysia

At the invitation of Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) of Malaysia, to strengthen the knowledge and understanding of Civil and Military Air Traffic Management Cooperation and Flexible Use of Airspace as advocated by ICAO through Circular 330 (Cir 330), Mr. Yan Yonggang , the Regional Officer of ATM and Mr. Huo Da, the Programme Assistant  delivered the Civil and Military Air Traffic Management Cooperation(CMAC) and Flexible Use of Airspace(FUA) Workshop over 3 days from 25th to 27th September 2017 at the Malaysia Aviation Academy(MAvA).


34 representatives from the Malaysian Armed Forces, Ministry of Transportation (MOT) of Malaysia,  DCA Malaysia consisting of a broad spectrum of airspace users, airspace planners as well as  airspace managers attended the Workshop. ICAO RSO Officers present the primary principles on Circular 330, and conduct a serial FUA exercises. With the help from ICAO RSO Officers, DCA Malaysia used the presence of both Civil and Military representatives at the Workshop to start some preliminary discussions to consolidate existing documents to create a comprehensive CMAC/FUA Policy for Malaysia using ICAO Cir330 and other best practices as guidelines.


For expressing their gratitude for Officers of RSO very professional and excellent conduct of the work, Zulkefli Harun, the Acting Director of Air Traffic Managemen​​​​​t Sector on behalf of DCA Malaysia and the Liaison Committee  conveyed their expectations of  further cooperation between ICAO APAC RSO and Malaysia.
