The GASP-SG develops and maintains the GASP, which guides the harmonized development of regional and State safety planning, supported by regional safety activities coordinated by the regional aviation safety groups (RASGs). The GASP-SG seeks to assist States and regions in their respective safety policies, planning and implementation by providing the ICAO Secretariat with expert advice on:

  • The GASP goals, targets, indicators, and high-risk categories of occurrences
  • A planning framework, timelines and guidance material
  • Implementation strategies
  • The global aviation safety roadmap.

The GASP-SG is supported by several sub-groups:

  • Organizational issues
  • Operational and emerging issues
  • Safety performance measurement
