The 2024 ICAO Seminar on Green Airports, will be held from 18 to 19 April 2024 as an in-person event at the Grand Hyatt Athens Hotel, in Athens, Greece.
The objective of the Seminar is to increase awareness of all interested parties on the emerging topics associated with airports, with a specific focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), Lower Carbon Aviation Fuels (LCAF) and other Aviation Cleaner Energies, including sustainable infrastructure, to enable the energy transition at airports.
Expanding on the achievements of past Green Airports Seminars, the 2024 edition of the ICAO Green Airports Seminar will cover a broad spectrum of airport activities and operations to increase awareness of all interested parties on emerging topics. The topics will include ambitious net-zero goals and roadmaps for airports, as well as emerging subjects such as innovations in airport management, the transition to cleaner energy sources and sustainable infrastructure. The discussions will comprise the deployment and distribution of SAF, LCAF and other Aviation Cleaner Energies at airports, financing environmental projects and mitigation measures, partnerships for a sustainable future, and adaptation measures to enhance the climate resilience of airports.
