A review of the structure, functions and composition of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teams was carried out, and the organization of ICT operations was divided into two sections: the Enterprise Technology Section (ETS) and the Business Technology Section (BTS). Information security monitoring and oversight was also separated from the operational sections as an independent unit reporting directly to senior management.
The Big Data initiative was expanded further to deploy ICAO’s products, raw data and associated data analytics in leading cloud platforms. A new system to automate the filing and tracking of overtime was implemented. The entire web platform was updated to serve content only through secure and encrypted communication protocol (HTTPs). Major upgrades were carried out to several business applications.
Detailed mapping of the application landscape, core services and their risk ratings were developed for ICT services across the Organization.
