At the end of December 2017, there were 597 established posts within the Organization, of which 308 posts were in the Professional and higher categories and 289 were in the General Service category. Women occupied 30 per cent of the Professional and higher categories posts. There were 166 supernumerary funded posts of which 71 were Professional and 95 were General Service. Non-staff categories accounted for 25 per cent of the total workforce (156 consultants and 71 seconded personnel). In total, 110 nationalities were represented in the overall workforce of ICAO. In general, the total workforce has increased over the years, particularly in the use of non-staff categories of personnel to meet expanding programme requirements.
