Provisions Relating to the 2016 SID/STAR Procedures and Phraseology
It is essential that ATCOs and flight crews understand and use the correct, unabbreviated phraseology. Failure to do so may result in unnecessary communications, readback or hearback errors and unsafe pilot deviations.
The phraseologies are used to clear aircraft to follow published SID/STAR procedures and incorporate explicit level and speed instructions.
