Protocol to Amend the Convention on Offences and Certain Other Acts Committed on Board Aircraft

 

A Diplomatic Conference held in Montréal from 26 March to 4 April 2014 adopted the Protocol to Amend the Convention on Offences and Certain Other Acts Committed on Board Aircraft on 4 April 2014. The Protocol extends, under certain conditions, jurisdiction over offences and acts on board aircraft to the State of landing and the State of the operator. It also extends legal recognition and certain protections to in-flight security officers. As of 31 December 2014, there were 26 Signatory States to the Protocol.
