The ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office has organized a technical assistance workshop to support Azerbaijan in strengthening its safety oversight and accident investigation capabilities. Regional Officers from the EUR/NAT Office provided guidance and recommendations to staff members from the State Civil Aviation Agency (SCAA) of Azerbaijan. The objective was to enhance the preparedness of the SCAA to USOAP CMA activities in areas like aircraft operations (OPS), aircraft accident and incident investigation (AIG), air navigation services (ANS), and aerodromes and ground aids (AGA).
The
workshop activities also included On the Job Training (OJT) for aerodrome
inspectorate staff. This OJT was delivered by Subject Matter Experts (SME)
released by the Georgian CAA. It allowed for practical and individualized training
of SCAA aerodrome inspectors to fulfill their responsibilities of aerodrome certification
and inspection in Azerbaijan.
The ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office extends its special thanks to the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA) for this successful collaboration that contributed greatly to the success of this Technical Assistance workshop aimed at strengthening the aviation safety oversight and accident investigation capabilities of Azerbaijan.
