ICAO - EASA Joint pan-European National Continuous Monitoring Coordinator meeting, 14 September 2021

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, ICAO and EASA continued enhancing their cooperation to assist States of the region to maintain and improve their safety oversight systems. The ICAO - EASA Joint pan-European National Continuous Monitoring Coordinator meetings (E-NCMC) held virtually on 14 September 2021 is an illustration of this cooperation.

During this meeting, ICAO, EASA and participating States discussed recent news, common challenges and best practices related to the development and implementation of the Continuous Monitoring Approach (CMA) for the ICAO Universal Safety Audit Programme (USOAP) as well as EU/EASA standardization and rulemaking activities.

Such meetings, held in true spirit of cooperation, serve to avoid duplication, capitalize on existing mechanisms and support regional implementation of the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP). In attendance were 78 participants from 49 states, as well as speakers from the European Commission, EASA and ICAO.
