The 2022 EASPG Frequency Management Group Coordination Meeting (FMG CM 2022) combined with the Twenty-First Meeting of the Network Manager Radio Frequency Function (RAFT/21) was held in the ICAO EUR/NAT Premises in a hybrid format from 16 to 19 May 2022.
The evolution and challenges related to aviation frequency spectrum were discussed, namely the growing usage of data link and several possibilities to make better use of the datalink band were analyzed.
Other topics, such as RPAS C2 Links, GNSS Radio-Frequency Interference and potential interference to aeronautical radio altimeters operating in the frequency band 4200 – 4400 MHz were addressed.
In addition, the meeting was provided with an update on the forthcoming upgrade to the SAFIRE (Spectrum and Frequency Information Resourced) web-based application, developed by EUROCONTROL.
This coordination meeting will help facilitate the preparation and conduct of the plenary session of 28th Frequency Management Group scheduled from 19 to 22 September 2022 in Brussels, Belgium.
The Meeting was attended by 105 Participants from 36 States, 2 International Organisations and 3 Non-Governmental Organisations.
