ICAO EUR/NAT Office has organized jointly with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) a technical assistance seminar on environment to support the Maghreb States developing their States Action Plans. The three participating States and airline representatives received information on the new States Action Plan on CO2 emissions reduction following up with the ICAO Regional seminar organized in July 2020, on data collection, and selection of mitigation measures including CORSIA.
The technical assistance meeting was followed by an ACT CORSIA discussion with the support of the Expert from the French Civil Aviation Authority. Participants received additional information on reporting of emissions in the frame of CORSIA and upcoming deadlines.
Follow up actions have been decided to be undertaken to further support the three Maghreb States in their activities toward the development of States Action Plans and CORSIA implementation.
The workshop was attended by 20 participants including the Environment Focal Points from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, ACAO representatives as well as airlines representatives.
