The USAP emphasizes the importance of consistent and rigorous auditor selection, training and certification in order to ensure and maintain the highest standards of competency in the conduct of audits.

Auditor training and certification activities are conducted with the objective of establishing a roster of auditors representing as wide a geographical base as possible, and in sufficient numbers, to carry out the established schedule of audits.

Given that there are presently over 150 auditors on the USAP roster and that the current cycle of USAP audits is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013, there are currently a sufficient number of auditors available to implement the Programme. Consequently, there is no intention to hold further initial USAP auditor training courses for the second cycle of audits. However, training courses related to the evolution of the USAP and its future methodology will be held prior to the commencement of the next phase of the Programme.
