Italy’s Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile (ENAC) will license and transfer its Spatial Distribution of Aircraft Crashes (SDAC) software to ICAO, following the signing of an agreement by ICAO Secretary General Dr. Fang Liu and the President of ENAC, Mr. Nicola Zaccheo.
The signing took place on 28 September 2019 and was observed by Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, the Alternative Representative of Italy to ICAO.
The SDAC software will be incorporated into ICAO's integrated Safety Trend Analysis and Reporting System ("iSTARS"), in order to globally share safety information and safety data between ICAO Member States and improve and enhance their safety oversight.
