H.E. Eng. Saleh bin Nasser bin Alali Aljasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of Saudi Arabia, delivering the State’s latest donation to ICAO to its Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar. Attending on the occasion are Dr. Bader Saleh Al-Sagri,  Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the Council of ICAO (far left), H.E. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (second from left), and ICAO Middle East Regional Office  Director Mr. Mohamed Abubaker Farea (far right).

To support ICAO’s need for voluntary contributions from its Member States,  to supplement their assessed contributions as signatory States to the Chicago Convention, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently confirmed a USD 1,000,000 donation for ICAO to help needful countries improve their compliance with ICAO global standards for civil aviation safety, security, and sustainability.

The donation was delivered personally to ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar, during the ongoing ICAO 41st Assembly, by H.E. Eng. Saleh bin Nasser bin Alali Aljasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of Saudi Arabia.

Directly supporting ICAO’s longstanding No Country Left Behind initiative, the generous contribution from Saudi Arabia will help further assure that as States’ ICAO compliance improves through new assistance and capacity-building initiatives, so too will the socio economic benefits they derive from increased international air connectivity.
