An ICAO Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP) Regional Seminar on Traveller identification Management will take place from 5 to 7 June 2018 in Brasília, Brazil.


The Seminar, hosted by the Government of Brazil, will address the five elements of the ICAO Traveller Identification Programme (ICAO TRIP) Strategy, including: machine readable travel document (MRTD) standards; specifications and best practices; secure travel document issuance; robust evidence of identity processes; and information sharing technologies highly relevant to the execution of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions 2178 (2014), 2309 (2016), 2368 and 2396 (2017) on combatting foreign terrorist fighters, with a special focus on effective border control management.


This ICAO TRIP Regional Seminar provides a unique opportunity to exchange information and enhance expertise and would be of benefit to passport issuing offices, aviation security authorities, civil registries, immigration, border control and law enforcement authorities, as well as to airline companies and airport authorities.


Seminar speakers and facilitators include top experts in the field, policy makers and senior managers, practitioners and researchers, many from the relevant working groups of ICAO, ISO and other international organizations.
