ICAO/Transport Canada Workshop on
Aviation Operational Measures for Fuel and Emissions Reductions

A Workshop on Aviation Operational Measures for Fuel and Emissions Reductions, jointly hosted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Transport Canada, was held in Montreal, Canada from 20 to 21 September 2006. The goal of the Workshop is to disseminate information on fuel and emissions reductions contained in ICAO's Circular 303, Operational Opportunities to Minimize Fuel Use and Reduce Emissions, and to share practical experiences and successful programmes that have contributed to emissions reductions in all aspects of the aviation industry.
 
This event was free of charge for all participants and of interest to professional staff members of civil aviation authorities, airlines, airports and other stakeholders from the aviation industry with responsibilities for environmental issues, and fuel policy and planning. The Workshop included an introductory item on the availability of aviation fuels and alternative fuels for aviation and was organized into four panels, namely: Aircraft, Air traffic management, Flight operations and Airport – air and ground side. The working language was English with simultaneous translation into French.
