Data Network for Aviation (DNA)

The Data Network for Aviation (DNA) is a new digital portal providing access to a range of tools and services that facilitate day-to-day operations for civil aviation authorities, air operators, air navigation service providers, and other organizations in the global civil aviation community.

At this stage, the OPS Control Directory and WAGMAR are live, and additional services will appear via the DNA portal in due course.

The OPS Control Directory facilitates the exchange of information between air operators and air navigation service providers.  While established specifically to assist with the implementation of the aircraft tracking Standard, the OPS Control Directory may have multiple uses.

Pursuant to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, States are required to register international aeronautical agreements and arrangements with ICAO. WAGMAR permits States to register such agreements and arrangements online. It allows States, operators, and the public to search for information concerning registered agreements and arrangements.

  • Location of an Aircraft in Distress Repository (LADR) (Coming soon in 2024)

The primary purpose of the LADR is to store and allow access to location information from an aircraft in distress. This position may be made available from a number of different proprietary systems that meet the requirements of the Standards in Annex 6. The LADR will provide a single point of access and a standard format for this information.
