Translation, interpretation and publication statistics
In Languages and Publications (LP), 10.8 million words were translated in 2018, compared to a budgeted capacity of 8.6 million. Internal staff handled 56.85 per cent of translation workload and 43.15 per cent was outsourced. Interpretation was provided for 1 033 sittings, compared with 1 024 sittings in the previous year. In addition to deliberative bodies’ meetings, for which interpretation is regularly provided, AN-Conf/13 represented a significant portion of the total.
There were 49 new saleable publications and new editions issued in 2018. There were no new non-saleable documents published and translated in all ICAO languages.
