ICAO SG highlights Indonesia’s TRAINAIR PLUS activities

The fulfilment of the TRAINAIR PLUS Programme (TPP) requirements by three Indonesian training organizations was celebrated at a special ceremony hosted by ICAO Secretary General Dr. Fang Liu (centre left) on the sidelines of ICAO’s 40th Assembly.

A Training Service Agreement was signed with Mrs. Polana Banguningsih Pramesti, Director General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation, at the ceremony. It provides for the delivery of 17 ICAO courses in the fields of safety, security and training competency development. This important milestone will enable Indonesia to train its current and future generation of aviation professionals to support its ICAO compliance efforts.

The Secretary General also presented commemorative plaques for the Indonesia Civil Pilot Academy of Banyu Wangi, in recognition of its status as a new TRAINAIR PLUS Associate Member, and the Indonesia Civil Aviation Institute and the Civil Aviation Human Resource Development Centre, for their successful re-assessment to maintain their TRAINAIR PLUS Membership.

TPP Membership is obtained by training organizations that have successfully completed an assessment and have demonstrated, among other aspects, the implementation of a robust quality management system and the establishment of a robust training and procedures manual.

New Associate Members benefit from a wide array of programme features, such as the ability to choose from the extensive library of more than 200 ICAO-harmonized training packages, and deliver these packages to fulfil their local and regional training needs.
